Upgrade choice
We have a Tahoe ready for collection, but as driving is my treat while on holiday I have the chance of upgrading to the Lincoln Navigator
Is it worth the upgrade?

Depends on the money, but a superior vehicle. Cadillac Escalade would be a great one if you could get it.

We had a Lincoln Navigator last time as an upgrade, and it was a lovely car but we worried about anything happening to it as some things were not covered on the package, so our excess 💰💰💰 was much greater if anything went wrong. The best thing was we filled it up for £30 which we laughed about would have been about £150 a home to fill the tank . This time we are going back to a people carrier, as they just seem to sit in car parks most of our trip 😀

No if we damaged the windscreen or needed a tyre we would have had to pay for them which obviously on a lincoln is more than on a people carrier

But that’s not an insurance excess, which confused me. You can protect yourself by buying Additional Roadside Assistance, which covers loss of keys, glass cover, and tyre cover.
As it’s optional I never take it and in twenty odd years of renting in USA never needed it ( oh dear, I’ve fated that now...bet I’ll burst a tyre next trip now I’ve mentioned it ) Is that what you had? |

When we were out in October my son had the GMC Yukon and I had a Cadillac Escalade long wheel base. They were similar other than the Escalade was quicker, a lot larger inside and had more bells and whistles inside. Parking assist, cameras, better radio and climate control etc. Depending upon the cost I would go for it. We paid exactly the same when we went as I got the Luxury SUV for £700 for 2 weeks, too good a deal to not go for. At Alamo they had numerous Navigators, an Infiniti and one Escalade. I went for the Escalade as it is faster I preferred it from write ups I had read to the others.
