Queuing system looks rubbish. I don't want to turn up at 10am and be given a FP for 3pm!

I may look at giving this place a miss in August unless things improve significantly

But wouldn't you just be stood in a 5 hr queue if the didn't have virtual queuing ? Obviously the park is extremely busy ( that is no shock tbh). I wouldn't have queued 4 hrs plus for avatar but people did. It's a brand new amazing water park on a very busy weekend.

The difference is normally a large percentage of people would be sitting by the pool. Eating. Walking around the park and not in a queue. Now all the people in the park are in a queue for something. Imagine a park where there is no one sitting around and everyone is in a ride queue. The queues would be enormous.

I don't think you can compare a theme park queue to a water park queue.

I'd never stand in any queue for 5 hours but whilst the queue's are designed in the theme parks to hold long lines, I've not seen a queue line in a water park long enough to hold 5 hours plus worth of people. Especially as these are also generally outside in the direct sun.

I understand that.😀

What I don't understand is how the designers thought that would make a great park experience at max crowds. Maybe on a low crowd day it would be great but a lot of people don't spend a full day in the water park, for us it's probably only 5 hours ish, based on current waits we'd be lucky to get on two possibly three slides maybe. For the considerable price hike I think that's not great 😥

I totally agree. I think the virtual queues for the big rides would be great but you still need some walk ups.
Plus if noone is in queues then lounging areas are going to be very busy.

But you are not stood in a queue are you , it a 5 hr wait time , so if it was t a wait time it would be a queue . Blizzard beach had queues of over an hr each last time we went and it wasn't all shaded either . at least you can sit in the shade or go for a swim until your ride time . perhaps restricting the amount of people entering would have been thought about but then not everyone rides the shutes, I know I don't , I go for a sit down and swim while the kids do the rides .

TripAdvisor reviews are mainly 1 star. As expected queuing system and views of the polluted I-4 are main gripes

I know that
I think it will all calm down anyway, be interesting what happens when they shut for a storm though, does the queue reset itself?
