We've booked!
After being generally disappointed with the 'sales' of virgin and BA we found what I think is a great price for August. £2449 for Manchester to Miami (indirect as a stop off in Heathrow) for 2 adults, 3 kids from 12-31st August. This is a BA flight but says operated through AA so if anyone can tell me about seat reservations that'd be great! Booked through netflights. Just need to find car hire now, getting quotes of over £1k atm for a car big enough to seat all of us

That is a great price on the flights. We always book our car hire through Andy at Discount Florida Car Hire who has always been cheaper with great service too.

OP. Try Netflights, also try Virgin Atlantic for a standalone car hire. Andy is very good as well.
Oh, try Auto Europe as well.

Hi,
yes, I deal with the whole of the USA. Singerella, Alamo are charging a peak season surcharge for your dates. Best to look at two rentals such as 12th to 16th and then 16th to 31st. That should make it cheaper. Think Virgin have managed to avoid the surcharge so worth checking them as well. |

Thanks all, yes Virgin have come out significantly cheaper than everyone else, including BA flydrive option. Think we're going to book it. Our flights were through Netflights, but they're still more expensive than virgin for car hire. Shocked by how the prices seem to have soared this year. Or maybe we're just feeling the extra week we've added on?
