I'd have thought most people would be too busy enjoying themselves (or not as the case may be) to look at complete strangers oddly.

Well if I am standing in a queue to get a autograph for my CHILD then yes I will be looking at adults strangely. Queue tends to be the most boring thing in the world then of course I am going to be seeing/looking at others in this queue. Anyone who says they don't look at other people or say they are to busy having fun they don't notice others or never judge other are telling porkies. The OP asked if it was weird and I answered my opinion. I think it is but I never said to not do it

Thanks for your input but if Disney isn't for everyone then I don't know what is. Yes queues are boring and I can appreciate that with children it can get frustrating but Disney is a place for anyone to enjoy, young or old. If I had children I would never pass judgment on someone else for doing something they enjoyed and think they were taking the place of my child.
I'm sorry but I do follow the Disney is for everyone rule I was just curious as to other adults experiences with getting character autographs!

Go for it... we haven’t done autographs... but will still q up for character meets.

Anyone who judges probably says a lot more about them and their holiday than it does yours!

You have paid for your ticket just like the next person, why should you be denined an experience because you don’t have children?
I wouldn’t care what anybody else thought and although I can’t say it doesn’t happen I’ve never experienced people “looking” at those without children thinking they shouldn’t be there.
I have children but queued to meet mike and sulley before we had children, never a problem

Exactly. On my visit to DLP last year I queued up and met all the characters I could and got some brilliant photos. I got just one autograph I specifically wanted - Winnie the Pooh. I took a small WtP book and he signed that I'm 54 and don't have children!

I've seen loads of grown ups getting autographs. I regret not getting them when it was just DH and I

My kids (4 and 7 at last year) loved queuing up for the autographs etc.. we adults didnt bother getting autographs as personally it does not interest me.

What i will say though, once the kids are home they have not looked at their autograph books...

If as an adult you think you will look at the autograph books again, get them... if you dont think you would, i dont see the point of getting them in the first place.

But then.. i only go to Disney for the kids, its not a place i would go solo or just with the wife, there so many better places to go as a couple...

Horses for courses as they say... no right or wrong.

Why does it bother you so much what other people do? I'll be on my own and will be concentrating on what I want to do on a holiday that I'm paying for with money that I work hard for. I won't care what other people who are bored think of me and I certainly won't be looking at or judging other people - it's none of my business what other people do. And I'm not telling porkies. Just because you are judgmental doesn't mean that everyone is. So to the OP - go for it, I will be.

Hundreds of adults interact with the characters and get autographs. It is normal and expected.

Many people bring something like a t shirt or bag for all the characters to autograph.

Personally I think the characters love interacting with adults as they can be creative and have some fun. We met Thor on the Magic and told him off for wrecking Greenwich!
