We really liked Key West and have been a couple of times. The Trolley Tour is great for getting round and hearing more about the history of the place. We also went up the lighthouse - fantastic views of the island and The Little White House was great too had a nice little gift shop with presidential bits and pieces which was fun. There was also a yummy ice cream shop near the harbour where you could sit outside and eat them looking at the massive cruise ships coming in nad out.
A lovely stop on the way down was the Bahia Honda State Park. We also stopped at Key Largo and went out on a glass bottom boat which was fantastic. All that makes me want to go back!

thanks Floridafan, was wondering about what there was to do in Key West.
just a quick update for all, flights booked with Thomson out of LGW-SFB, car Hire sorted with Andy at Discount Florida car hire. two nights at Cabana bay one night at Charthouse Suites, Clearwater, (book Little Toot sea trip) two nights at Lovers Key Resort, Fort Myers two nights at Ramada Inn, Naples two nights at Seascape Inn, Marathon one night at Nyah, Key West two nights at Casa Boutique Hotel, Miami Beach one Night at Hyatt, Orlando plan to see and do at moment Universal City walk, not doing parks, but really tempted! Clearwater - Little Toot, eat some sea food, have a drink at the rooftop bar at Pier house 60 and watch the sunset sunshine skyway bridge see the Manatees / alligators airboat ride in the everglades Ringling Museum definitely visit Robbies was tempted to do the Dry Tortugas ferry, but after seeing the cost $175.00 per adult, may just chill in Key West and visit what you have suggested. just really want to see a bit more of Florida, as the past two visits have been full on WDW, Universal etc, which i really love but just want to wander this time. |
