We've also stayed at Shorewalk Vacation Villas and they're really nice and spacious. As FloRidaLvr said, there's lots of amenities nearby and 2 nice pools on site.

We stayed in Cape Coral last year for two weeks. The first week we stayed near the Marina end of town which itself is quite good for a night out, you can taxi from here to local bars and restaurants easily. For this week we had a boat included with the villa we rented which was brilliant, dolphins swimming alongside the boat will always stay in the memory. The second week we moved along to nearer to the beach, deliberately within walking distance of some bars and the town. We really enjoyed being out of the 'tourist' area and nights out with 'locals'. Totally different to Orlando but I enjoyed it far more, we used the villas a lot more than you do in Orlando and can relax much more.

So are there two areas then foe a night out? Marina and beach or are they the same? Are there any shops?

There are loads of places in Cape Coral - here are a few:
Tarpon Point Marina - has a circular waterside bar The Nauti Mermaid(thenautibar) as well as the gorgeous waterfront restaurant Marker92 (marker92) - great to watch dolphins! Also has Pinchers Seafood & Fish restaurant (pinchersusa).

Cape Harbour - Again all waterfront, you have Rumrunners restaurant & bar (you can moor your boat on their dock LOL and sit by the waters edge with a cocktail of the day(rumrunnersrestaurant) . Beside there is Fathoms restaurant & bar which is more casual but again waterfront and great food (fathomsrestaurant)

There is also a restaurant down at the Cape Coral beach (Fords Boathouse - theboathouseusausa) great for live music, good food and decking right on the waterfront!

As well as all the chain restaurants & bars along Cape Coral Blvd, Pine Island Rd and Del Prado Blvd (Applebees, Outback, Five Guys, Ruby Tuesdays, Chilli's, Bonefish Grill, Carrabas, Hooters, etc) we soon discovered that the best deals and happy hours are to be found on SE47th Terrace - this is where all the nightlife is - rows of restaurants and bars including Big Blue Brewing, Back Street Sports Bar, Dixie Roadhouse, Iguana Mia, Nevermind, Cork Soakers and loads more.

We are fortunate that we have 4 restaurants and bars that we can walk to from our villa (its 5-10 mins walk, or 3 mins in the car if it's too hot) and I would say 3 of them are really good -
Mexican Lindo (mexicolindorestaurant),
A very upmarket and getting great reviews from restaurants critics called Point57 restaurant & cocktail bar (point-57), Fins Seafood restaurant, bar & tiki hut, and Hooters (well, Hooters is Hotters!)

The best burgers are served in Ford's Garage (fordsgarageusa) with a huge selection of beers and live entertainment every night.

Shops - Loads of them! TJMaxx, Ross, Walmart, SuperTarget, Kohls, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Goods, Ulta, Dollar Tree and many more. Like everywhere in Florida, every 3rd intersection there is a Publix, a Walgreens, a CVS or a Dollar Tree.

Every time we come back to our villa new restaurants & Malls are springing up all the time - there has been big changes to Cape Coral over the years. We are going out next week to the villa and have already booked Marker 92 and Point57 for some nice meals out!

Hope this helps!

This is fantastic. Thank you very much. Really looking forward to staying in Cape coral. We are staying here. Will we be near all the nice things?

Nice location, not far from restaurants and bars & supermarkets - a little bit further away from Cape shopping Malls - but I am talking an extra 15-20 mins tops!
Have a great time!

Thanks.
Looks like you're going there very soon! I think there's a few of us who are off to the Cape this year. If you get time, post some pics to whet our appetite.
