Flying indirect to other airports then using Uber to Universal?

Hi

We are going next August 16th and My budget is £500 pp for flights, there are 5 of us.

Last time we went in August 3 years ago we flew indirect to Tampa, we stayed overnight and hired the car from there and drove to disney.

My DH and I have since split up, so I'm taking the children on my own, we won't have car hire, I don't drive. facing fact that I may have to fly to another airport to get the cheaper flights, so apart from Tampa, which other ones could I look at that I could get an uber from to Universal if I need to?

Thanks

I would think Orlando would be the best airport to fly into with not having a car. There is Sanford but it is quite a bit further. Your budget will be very tight for mid-August.

I’ve taken an Uber from Sanford airport to Universal before, it was around £35.

We are flying this August (13th to 27th) and have paid just under £500 each, not including seat reservations, with Lufthansa. We’re going Heathrow-Frankfurt-Orlando.

same thing here, lufthansa via frankfurt, best price was found in september for our flight next august

OP if you're looking for good prices, so close to departure, for a peak period, you might have a hard time scoring the prices some of us had at time of flight price release 1 year (or 330 days) out from return date

Or, you might find acceptable prices from dodgy booking sites (don't ! ) or need to accept weird itineraries, with long layovers, too early a start, or too late an arrival, and you'll then struggle with transportation since you don't drive

definitely keep an open mind (or rather budget) regarding flight prices.
remember, if the price looks right, the times look right, and the booking site looks right, don't second guess yourself or seek approval on forum, or the price will be gone by the time you decide to bite the bullet.
