Dvc and travel insurance

The problem that you have,in any instance, if Disney & DVC are open then it's not the owner's fault if you/we can't get there IYKWIM. Whilst it was all closed DVC relaxed their rules about points so an owner could cancel without restrictions, now no longer the case. To further explain, if you are not familiar with the workings, if during the last 4 months of a UY you cancel you basically have that amount to use or lose, so for instance flights are cancelled 1 month before your holiday, if the owner whose points you have rented, is within that 4 month period, they are stuck with 2 weeks worth of points that they need to offload/use.
My Bank has even put in a clause for reclaiming on my CC, so Insurer's are clamping down

have spoke with staysure and he has confirmed i would be covered under my policy to claim the money back as long as there was an invoice to prove payment.

Hi Mike, just wondering who you spoke to at StaySure/How you contacted them? After seeing this I got in touch with them yesterday asking for a policy to cover exactly the same and have just been told “I'm afraid our policies don't cover cancellation due to covid-19 under this circumstance I'm afraid. Kathryn”. Back to square one trying to find someone who’ll cover it! Lol

Usually cover for accommodation but not points. So ensure your invoice says accommodation not DVC points.

Most insurers are not covering anything related to Covid at the moment. Staysure appear to be the exception
