Fly from newcas at least 7-8 times a year normally, never waited more than 5 mins to get through security, usually walk straight through, 2 bars with food, Burger King, another fast food place, something hippo, boots, whsmith, few other shops, good size duty free, luv the lounge too, nice buffet breakfast prior to covid

For anyone planning on travelling from NCL on or after 20th July be aware that the Drop Off Zone for passengers willnow be charged at £4 for 10 minutes. The free 15 minutes will still be available at the short stay car park.

This is the second time during the pandemic that the price of the drop off has been increased - my taxi fare to the airport will almost be the same price as the drop off cost should I choose to use it - which I certainly won't out of principle. I understand the need to increase revenue after the pandemic but I don't like the way the authorities almost "sneak" out the changes. Rant over.

NCL is a great airport to fly from.

We are local but we always stay at the Doubletree Hilton the night before to get in the holiday mood and they offer packages with long stay car park as well. When travelling to Disney with TUI we always fly PE so using the lounge area is a massive plus for us with snacks and a comfy seat.

I find the boarding process a little frustrating with everyone in together and then calling PE first but that's just my personal preference.

All in all though it's a good airport and highly recommend.

I've looked for flights from Newcastle on our last couple of trips and found nothing. Do they only fly to Florida at certain times through the year?

We tend to for outside of school holidays in off peak times.

Last used Ncl in 2015, friend dropped us in the petrol station parking area and we walked to the terminal but they put a stop to that. Prior to that it was free for circa 5 mins so we made use of the layby not far from Ncl roundabout, awaiting 'two rings' on the mobile to pick up.

Man airport now charge £5 for 5 mins when dropped at departures or the railway station.
