Eurostar Baggage Question

Ok so I've got everything ready to pack... what will be the best type of baggage to take?

I have a hard sided suitcase or a holdall, I need a larger bag as I need something smart for Sunday night as I will be out with friends and I am shockingly bad at packing light, especially as I need ten thousand layers!

Either will fit in the luggage racks OK. We took a large case but there isn't a lot of room for them so get there early. There is also plenty of room in the carriage by your seat; above and behind, depending where you are sitting. We were in Coach 18 which has the least amount of luggage rack space.

There are spaces in the carrages and in the vestibules, mostly in the vestibules. Usually there is enough space overall.
