DH will be turning 35 on our trip. Any recommendations for a birthday lunch or dinner? Well also have a 4yo and a 2yo.
Thanks! |

For a special occasion, I would suggest California Grill.

We got back on Friday and still, 25 years on, I would say that Walt's is by far the best restaurant on property. We had lunch there this time (not open for dinner) and it was excellent.
The small people might enjoy Inventions buffet in the DLH more though (characters).

Would also recommend Chez Remy. We had a lovely meal here.

I agree with Bistro Chez Remy. I enjoyed Hunters Grill.
I was disappointed with Silver spur steakhouse, and I know everyone loves Inventions, but I wasn't that enamoured but it, especially not for the price compared to hunters grill. I will say however, the character interaction was fab. |

Any thoughts of the Lucky Nugget restaurant? Thought out daughter might like the shows they have on whilst you eat but not sure what times these are in and if the food is any good?

We ate at the lucky nugget twice last week and actually, I think the extra money (compared to a standard QS) is probably worth it. The menu is small (pork ribs, cheeseburger, fish & chips) or the seasonal option. For kids there was chicken nuggets s or a burger. You also get a dessert and a refillable drink (but you have to ask, and the servers are not very obliging!). The cost is between €18-22 per adult and €8-10 for kids.
The absolute benefit is you order and pay, then get seated and they bring you your food so much nicer than queuing up, fighting with a tray trying to find a spare seat. The show is good, the entertainers are excellent and it's just enough without being intrusive. Our 4 and 14yr olds both enjoyed it.

Also...We are staying in SL -is there any difference in Beaver Creek and Hunters Grill? Both menus look the same. |

We ate at Hunter's Grill on Thursday (never eaten there before) and I was actually quite impressed with the selection of food and quality at the price they were charging. Again- plenty of choice for kids and adults and I think at €35 per adult and €18 for kids it's represents good value. It was half the price of Inventions (we always have a meal there), but most definitely not half the quality, so if you aren't worried about characters I would give it a big thumbs up.
Beaver creek wasn't open last week and depending on when you are travelling, you will usually only find one or the other open at non-peak times. I think they serve very much the same food when both open.
