Registry

I would like to go to the registry on my Windows XP and Windows 10 computers as I am sure there are items on there that should not be there now. I am a novice so I would be grateful for any help how to go there and how to avoid deleting something.

Thanks for any help

I personally would not mess around in the registry unless you are 100% confident in what you are doing.
I use a free program called CCleaner to clean up my computer. This includes a tool which scans the registry and deletes anything that is no longer required. It also lets you make a backup before it deletes anything in case you run into problems

Thank you for your reply. I also use ccleaner and registry on there. I also have Superantispyware when I was doing a scan I noticed Mozell firefox and Go to Assist I deleted these from Add and Remove a long time ago.

I am a bit scared of going to the registry in case I delete something I need, this is on an old XP desktop which I do not use very often so I will probably leave it as it is.

Thanks again
