Rivers of light - no I need fp?

We're off to AK shortly and have a fp for rivers of light.

As that's late though it means we won't be able to get any additional fps so I'm wondering if it's really necessary.

Anybody watched rol without a fp?

We tried to watch it Friday night there but 20-25mins before show time it was full and standing room only if you didn't have FP+

In the end we didn't bother but we did see loads of people stood just down from yak and yeti at the fence as you could see from there if you weren't bothered about a seat.

We watched it one night last week, we got in around 8.50 think we were amongst the last few let in and we were sat in a reserved seating area.

I was very underwhelmed by rivers of light tbh... I wouldn't waste a fast pass on it

We've come in with the fp 1/2 hour before it starts and it's already very busy.

Bonus is we got front row so a good view.

Bad news is we'll be in the last out but never mind.

I think it finishes 30 min before the park closes so we're hoping to walk through Pandora on the way out to see it lit up.

People were Queuing from 6pm the other day for stand by. We have FP for tonight. I love Animal Kingdom so I'm happy to be there wether I saw it or not.

We'll I have to saw we were pretty underwhelmed as per previous poster.

I think it's just not our cup of tea.

We went straight to pandora afterwards as everyone else seemed to head to the exit.

Pandora was packed but we managed to get some really good nighttime photopass photos.

We left just after park closing and the buses were really manageable as I think most people left after rol or were still in Pandora. There wasn't anyone directing people out even though the park was closed so I guess they were happy for people to stay in Pandora.

Just resurrecting this thread to get opinions of people who have been recently. What are the standby queues like now? Still can't decide whether to keep my Fastpass for October.

From the reports I've read, and the youtube videos of ROL, nothing about it says to me " Get a FP+ for this! ".

As you say, it's on late so stops you getting other FP+ through the day. Look at this way, if lots and lots of people go to ROL you may get a FP+ or short wait for the likes of FOP etc

ROL just looks to be a very 'lukewarm' and ' meh' event and not one that any of my family are bothered about.
