Perhaps fir the first hour or so it's first come first served and then goes to a virtual queue.
That's what I was led to believe but I would love to know for sure if anyone can tell me please

When we went in July, we got tickets to return to kraken but to be honest I didn't enjoy the ride with the virtual headset, 1/2 way round it started coming off and I had to hold it on, it then banged the bridge of my nose which was really sore by the time I came off! The wait to get on is soooo painful, taking off the headsets, wiping them all down etc etc, I think they have spoilt a perfectly decent roller coaster. Mako we queued for 10 mins and Manta about 30 mins. I think the penguin ride was about 30 mins too. Journey to Atlantis about 10 mins.

We went today and had a great time, minimal queues for anything. Kraken was a virtual queue all day.

We were there on Tuesday. Kraken was virtual queue all the time we were there. We booked virtual tickets at 10:30 for a slot just after 11, went in Atlantis whilst waiting. Get second lot of spotsaver tickets with different name for 35 minutes later. Went into queue for 30 mins back out and round for the next slot immediately we came out.

Did one with VR and one without. Consensus was that be had ruined an excellent ride - plus the poor focus if some of the headsets gave really bad headache.

Mako was good and queues quiet. Manta was an easy walk on towards the end of the day but the whole park was quiet.

We were there late July/early August and the signs said it was booking via the app only. None of us wanted to go on it so we never used the app.

However a recent SeaWorld article says:

When the park opens for the day, Kraken Unleashed will operate with a standard standby line. Once the wait builds to about 20 minutes, the standby queue will be cut off and Spot Saver will become available. If no more Spot Saver time slots are available for the day, you will be allowed to join a standby queue shortly before park closing.

Spot Saver will not replace the paid Quick Queue front-of-the-line service, which will be accessed using the Kraken Unleashed exit; users will enter through the main queue. According to Brian Morrow, SeaWorld’s VP of Theme Park Experience Design, if Spot Saver is successful it may spread to other park attractions.

Not sure what you would do if a) you don't have a phone/mobile device to book on, b) the app isn't compatible with your device

There is a counter to the right of the entrance of kraken with a number of machines on. Just put in your name and the numbers in your party and it spits out a card with a return time on. It was between 20-40 mins once through the first gate when the time came round.

You can use your phone # email which may be electronic certainly if you put your name you get a slip.

My son couldn't even connect to it even in the park, we just used the machines that are next to the parks, I was told the app doesn't work unless you are in the park, gave up trying, printed out a ticket to come back in a few hours, shame they don't have a seperate queue for virtual and non virtual, this has ruined this ride as the wait time is ridiculous even with a virtual ticket.
