A little trip to Spain - Pre-trippie - October 2010

Hi all, it's a little too late for a pre-trip report now but I've been really busy and just didn't get round to posting it. So I thought seen as I already wrote it I may as well put it on.

Just to let you all know this will be a practice trip report ready for when we go back to Disney next August . I've never done one before even though I've been to Disney World 4 times.

Well here goes...


Who are we?

Me (Julie) – first time to Spain, first time writing a trip report ready for our next venture to Disney. Not too sure whether Spain will be our type of holiday in comparison to Disney.

BF (Craig) – went to Spain when he was younger with his family, hasn’t really organised himself seen as its not Disney, not a fan of beach holidays!

Dad (Dave) – been to Spain on holiday for the last 4 years, chief funder of the flights!

Step mum (Claire) – also been to Spain for the last 4 years and chief organiser of paperwork!

Background…

Back in August my Dad asked if we’d like to go to Spain in October half term as they were out there in the summer and got invited back by his friend who lives in Torrox. Dad apparently paid him too much to rent the apartment he has up for sale in Le Herradura and so Duncan (his friend) invited us all over for free!

Dad booked the flights at the beginning of September – when I asked how much we owed him he said nothing other than a couple of packets of cigs on the way back! (Fine by me!)

Me and Craig both dread beach holidays as were so used to Disney and getting up early and exploring every minute of every day that we're out there, spending a very little amount of time by the pool. But we agree to go to try it (after I graduated in July and worked every minute in August then starting a PhD in September the slightest bit of relaxation and sun would be greatly appreciated! )

Dad booked flights and car through Travel Republic which got us RyanAir flights and car hire through a company called Marbesol near Malaga airport. We’re staying for just less than a week from Saturday 23rd October to Friday 29th October.
