Parking for Manchester University

Driving down for open day (Glasgow) can anyone recommend a decent priced parking place for us, we will be popping into the city centre for a bite to eat before heading up the motorway again. Any help would be great xx

Personally I would park outside of Manchester for free and get the tram into and around Manchester. Ashton Moss is just off the M60, free car park at the tram stop.

Editing to add, I suggest this way because Oxford Road around the university is not very car friendly and the trams and buses are really frequent. Tram into the city centre every 6 minutes and bus down to oxford road every couple of minutes. I never drive into Manchester since we got the trams.

We parked in the NCP car park next to the Uni when we stayed at the Crowne Plaza Oxford Road on booth street it was £10 for 24 hours on a week day and £2 per day weekends. If you are only staying a few hours £3 for 3 hours 3-6 hours £5
Car park D, Booth Street West, M15 6AR, you take the turn where it says dental hospital
Right by the Uni and as previously said buses are very frequent.

Jane

When ever we take the kids to Manchester Uni Museum, we always park in the multi storey car park behind the museum.

Below is a direct link to it.

Not the cheapest, but ideal location.

My DD is going to Manchester Met open day tomorrow and we live in Mcr but they are going to get the tram in. As others have said it’s busy around the Uni, the open day guide DD has got gives details on the tram and parking etc.
Hope you have a good day.

Ditto (although we park at the Didsbury tram stop).

However, if the OP does want to park near the University, there is a multi-storey carpark at the back of the Aquatics centre that would be convenient. See here on google maps:

However, I suspect it will be busy.
