Passport renewal this month? (July)

Just thought I’d say my passport is back 20 days so thankfully not 10 weeks as per every bit of contact with them and the text message.

DH and DS got theirs back in 7 days. Applied online, 1 went to Durham, 1 to Liverpool. The new passports are really unimpressive and shoddy compared to the old purple ones but as long as they work I don't care.

Yaay! 20 days is still a fair while, but in the grand scheme of things compared with 10 weeks it’s great … maybe that’s why they say initially say 10 weeks - so that anything less the public will all be ecstatic. 🙂

I liked the really old dark navy ones with the little cut out window. But like you say, as long as it does it’s job.
Mines at Durham- I’m still waiting on confirmation they’ve got my old passport which my Royal Mail tracking tells me arrived there on Monday morning, so it’s chugging through the system slowly.
The email and text acknowledgement of my son’s old passport being received at the passport office was really fast at Peterborough, within 24 hours, but we’ve heard nothing since.

I don’t like not having a current passport- it just adds to the ‘you are not going to Disney anytime soon’ feeling 😂

My sons passport has arrived (from Peterborough) -

It took 2 weeks and 2 days in total (including weekends)

Not bad at all given that the worst scenario was a possible 10 weeks.

Glad your passports came back.
I sent 2 off on the 16th.. one to Peterborough and 1 to newport.
Still in the examination stage.
Hoping to get them back as want to go on a uk cruise on the 14th Aug.

The wait is killing me.
