In order to charge electric cars 7kw is generally needed, this would blow nearly every sub station in the country if even a few cars on the same grid are charging at the same time.
As for wind blowing somewhere all day, why do we have to fire up coal powered stations when it doesn’t? As for battery technology - DH has been in the car battery business for more than 30 years. Where do you think all the raw materials needed come from? I can’t go on as this is second hand to me from DH who isn’t here right now. Enough to say, laugh at me all you like, I have thick skin which it bounces off. I and DH genuinely fear for the next generation who will not be able to live the lives we have Anyway back to the OP - don’t have one, won’t have one

Yes, pre-owned is a kicker.
I suppose the pre is an abbreviation for previously in their minds. One of my neighbours has suffered terrible problems since being mugged into a Smart Meter. Even the day they came to fit it, the 'engineer' left her with no electric, no gas, and no phone. He also deleted all her timer settings for heating and hot water. What was even worse was trying to contact them to get him back. Took three days to speak to anyone, and they refused to send anyone out. Tough - your problem. Shocking. Then the billing problems ! I actually dread bumping into her as I know her topic of conversation will likely be Tales Of Smart Meter Woe. |

Yes they can't live the same life. Yet what is your solution? Get a diesel generator and fire up a coal power station. Do you not see an irony there.
Either way legal commitments to climate change and what not. And to the op. Why wouldn't.you have a smart meter? What's the big deall. |

When my meter stops working properly I will change, but until then I see no reason to have a new item made and installed using raw materials and energy. Then the old one either recycled using more energy or worse still ending up in landfill.
