I’m a bit clueless as to the alternatives to gas but do know that there seems to be a huge amount of financial waste in subsidies that ought to be better used IMO.
BIL was paid a fortune in a subsidy to dig up part of his property (old farm) and install a biomass boiler - the wood chips for which are mainly imported from Canada - where is the sense in that?

The house I'm buying, the EPC is so bad you are restricted by law to let it out.
I looked at cavity wall insulation and because we are in an area of high rainfall, 5 miles from the wettest place in the UK, it isn't recommended.
Will be investing in an oodie.
