Virgin Atlantic - Requesting a bassinet seat
Can anyone please share any experiences on requesting a bassinet seat for VS flight, please...
We have now managed to move our seats to the front of the cabin, however, the bassinet seat is not available to select. We have requested the bassinet seat, but have been told that this will only be allocated on day of (or day before) departure. Apparently, we are the only ones with lap infant both ways... so is it first come first serve, or how does the allocation work? Thanks in advance.

I don't know how they are allocated but in Feb last year we travelled with our 4 month old and we phoned to ask for a note to be put on the system. She said it wasnt a guarantee.
We didn't get confirmation really until we were on board and the air crew saw that we had a baby and we said we had asked for the bassinet. We got it no problem both there and back. As long as you have those seats I don't think there should be much of an issue. |

I think you need to ring and reserve the seat but still there’s no guarantee and I think it depends on the number of babies and then the age of the babies? We got it both ways no problem though.

Thank you... I have changed the OP as seems an error stating they are now available... when should have read they are not available to select.
We had to phone yesterday to change our seats (something to do with a system error for the infant), and we have requested the bassinet seat. Little one will be 9 months when we fly.

I think they only recommend them up to 9 months actually because of weight - they aren’t that big. If there are younger babies, they may be given priority.
