Im confused!
There's so many post/threads with opinion, thoughts and interpretation, I'm completely overwhelmed. We are 2a and 3c that are age 12-15. All 5 of us are vaccinated. I understand we need a test 3 days prior to flying. We fly on a Wed, does that mean any time sun is okay to be tested?
We are flying with VA, im hearing they won't accept antigen tests? Apart from the test when leaving UK do we need to test whilst out there or on return if we are all vaccinated (3kids all have had 1 vaccine but that technically makes them fully vaccinated) I just need someone to tell me cos my anxiety is flaring up x |

The kids aren’t classed as fully vaccinated. You all need tests 3 days before going and day 2 test on arrival back to UK. Unsure yet if kids need tested in the states on day 3-5.
Supervised antigen tests are accepted for travel to the states. |

The airlines don't decide which tests to accept, this is determined by the destination country. So rules are set by CDC for the US. An antigen is fine as long as it is supervised, either in-person or via video call. And it's up to 3 days before your flight, not just on that day. So you can test from any time on Sunday right up until you check in on Wednesday.
You'll all need to do day 2 tests on return, which again can be done at any point from landing until 2 days afterwards. These can be at home LFT tests, don't need to be supervised. But you need to have them booked in advance to put on your passenger locator form to check in for the return flight. The only potential thing is the kids may need to be tested out there as they are not considered fully vaccinated in the US. But still waiting on clarity from the CDC on their arrival requirements for children of vaccinated adults. If required, we don't have any info on what's acceptable for that yet as it was only announced yesterday. Edited at 04:59 PM. |

Thanks for asking this I’ve been confused with all the posts and needs someone to put it in black and white so I’m clear on the process.
