Cool Typical English Summer bloody weather

So I have invited friends round for a summer cocktail party later - number growing (inc some Netflix folk) - gorgeous morning, had gardener in and all terrace furniture cleaned while I took a walk on the common with doggy nephew and friend. Back home to shiny clean home inside and out , bubbles and food arrived and phone call to ask if someone else can come along then heavens open ! So p-eed off - I have some time for it to clear else I will have to start cancelling invites as my apartment is not big enough inside to host everyone coming now …..Sorry for the rant

Oh dear, I hope it can go ahead for you without the rain.
I wanted a BBQ Sunday but as I opened the BBQ lid it started to rain. I decided to have it Monday but it rained again. I didn't want to put it back again so I got a gazebo out and stood under that. It was pouring with rain but I still had my BBQ. I brought the cooked food in and we ate indoors.
This summer for us has had such changeable weather. We get sun and rain on the same day so it's so hard to plan anything.

Thank you

I am hosting a BBQ next Monday and like you hope it is OK but just the 5 of us then so could eat inside - I am glued to the forecast.

Today looked so fine - I am sure I will manage but it is stress I can do without . Off to find my chamois

MF. The best laid plans of mice and men etc. Fingers crossed the weather clears up for you and it can still go ahead. So frustrating after the effort you put in to it. God love the British weather - Not!

I have moved tables under the olive trees - no Argos near me but we will cope (its just cocktails and nibbles today - I am not cooking except to warm through fingerfood) x

It sounds lovely, I really hope the weather clears for you, but I’m sure you will have a great time anyway.
