Please note that Hertz through Autoeurope only covers you for SLI at the state minimum - that's $25k, not the more sensible $1m offered on every other provider.

Beware.

Interesting I missed that, though you could still take out an SLI policy elsewhere for still much less than any other car hire at the moment.

I certainly won't be hiring a car at these rates, in fact it's made me reconsider if I actually need a car. I was originally hiring a villa for the family (11 in total) with a Transit Van and a Mustang ( my little treat ) but with the new rates it's actually cheaper overall to book into hotels, a partner hotel at Disney and a Universal hotel . With these hotels we get a few extras such as early entry at Universal, not sure at Disney yet last entry , so it make a bit of a difference.

Sixt seem to have really good prices, even if I was to take 2 weeks it's still less than what Avis etc are quoting- basically Ł46/day but I see no mention of additional insurance eg CDW. Also looks like you have to take a print out from DVLA with details of your license/points etc

On a separate note we traded our 2 1/2 y/o car in 3 weeks ago for only slightly less than we paid for it & since arriving on the forecourt has increased in price!

Something I've always done anyway when renting cars, they have never checked it, but when renting a car you are suppose to take a print out that has a code so they can query the DVLA database, I'd imagine its something they probably use in this country and other countries aren't too familiar with the process.

We’re doing a split stay with tui, and a standard car and fully inclusive insurance was included. Ordinarily we wouldn’t g book the car through tui, but for the price we’ve seen with third parties we’d have been mad not to.

No ones booking at “those” prices. We’re all sharing tips and tricks to find near normal prices and booking them.
