Sorry...

I have a question, to those posting, please don't take this personally but have you sat and played along side or watched or have your kid explain what they are doing, the mechanics of the game and why it's so interesting?

My son spends too much time on it, I do like it but sometimes if you can't beat them they why not try to understand why they like it so much. If you are sitting alongside them and talking about it it's much easier to then talk about limits and doing other stuff.

Can't write it without it sounding preachy but if you haven't tried it then give it a go.
My dh is 43 and a lifelong gamer.. Gaming is one of those things, you either get it or you don't.

Yes I have tried playing alongside my son and agree that it can be fun but purely due to the fact that I am so horrendously bad at it that it's comical, I can not get the hang of the controller and also how to look around to see what you need to see so unfortunately for me it's no help with understanding why you would want to spend every waking moment of youre life on it

My kids are 9 & 11 and have a PS4 each as does Dh, between the 3 of them they drove me mental on it! The stresses, the arguements, the language! It's my bargaining chip with my 9 year old, the minute he starts I hide the controllers & unplug it all so he can't play it lol, to be a little more extreme when he was 7 he was a proper little sod and I resorted to cutting the plug off his PS3 and he didn't get it back for 6 months...this was a few days after he got it for his birthday lol
