Thanks all for the tips! I think we are going to go with pre sealed snacks from Walmart (crisps, cereal bars, etc) and maybe purchase an extra treat in the parks if we get hungry!

I get filled subs (or Hoagies, wholemeal type subs) from the fresh produce section of Walmart. A large one would do both of you for a lunchtime snack, with some fruit etc. About $6 and well filled with ham, cheese or beef, or any combo of these. They also do individual cakes and pastries which are nice with a coffee break in the parks.

we stop off at a 7eleven & pick up a sub that we split between us along with crisps/snack bars etc

weve got a soft collapsible sarnie bag/box, we freeze a bottle of water and pack that with the sarnies in a small rucksack

used to buy all the bits to make sarnies/wraps but time youve bought all the stuff it soon adds up! , cheaper to buy a ready made sub imo..

This is what we buy too and totally agree that it is just like UK fresh bread. I remember asking the same question some years ago here on the Dibb as we couldn't find bread that we liked. We were advised to buy the Italian bread from Publix and now buy this every time we return to Florida.

Boiled eggs are good - keep them in their shell and peel them in the park.
