Anybody else awaiting Thu and the A Level results

Both my daughters(twins) got 3 straight As and got there places studying medicine and psychology. So pleased for them. They had a grown man in tears this morning

Well done everyone! DS girlfriend got her first choice even though her grades were a bit lower, Drama was marked down apparently.
Glad to hear Portsmouth is good; friend's son/DS best frirend did a full re sit year and although not enough for first choice happy with second there.
And my son is ending his apprenticeship at 19 and going onto his first full salaried job next week within a year- and got the job he really wanted, he is going to be a site technician and working on all those great temporary events in West End Venues like the Scinece Museum etc. DSGF above got Southbank with accommodation so they don't have to do the long distance relationship thing.
All them are out clubbing and celebrating tonight.

DS2 did as badly in his AS exams as feared. He will have to drop one subject, pick up another, work a darn sight harder and do an extra year.

Don't loose heart DD failed Fine Art last year wasn't able to continue had to pick another AS subject. All the class was regraded,low and behold she had passed by the skin of her teeth. It was too late to continue then as she was well into media course. She had planned a third year at 6th form. Blow me at 1am a level results day she applied to go to uni. A levels went better than she hoped and she's off to Sheffield next month.

Don't worry about it as you could just transfer from the existing account straight to any new student account... assuming she goes for a student account of course


My daughter set up two student accounts to get the deals...the finance goes into her account she has had for years and where her various direct debits are set up from.. Each student account demands so much money is deposited into it each term...so she transfers that amount in then back out the day after ( think she set both accounts up with £10 in each) to her "old" account and carries on using that for all transactions. She then retains the goodies and the overdraft facility in each account.

I'm not advocating my son does this as he's bound to cock things up but my daughter is pretty good on this front

Don't give up. My DS messed up his AS Levels and had to drop down to 3 from 4 A Levels. It was the kick up the backside he needed and he worked hard in the second year of 6th Form. It is very frustrating I know and feel for you.
