The food galore ,first trip ever, spectacle - Sept/Oct 2013
We back now for almost 3 weeks and i have to give big thanks to all the people on this forum. The information i got here was priceless. Went from a newbie to almost an expert in months!
We had the deluxe dining plan for 15 days so the least i can do is make an food report for you all. I know i enjoyed reading them. Here we go! 23/09 British Airways flight. 23/09 Virgin Atlantic flight. 23/09 The Mara Dinner. 24/09 Crystal Palace Breakfast. 24/09 Colombia Harbour House Lunch. 24/09 California Grill Dinner. 25/09 Flame Tree Barbeque Lunch. 25/09 Ohana Dinner. 26/09 Whispering Canyon Cafe Breakfast. 26/09 Via Napoli Lunch. 26/09 Le Cellier Dinner. 27/09 The Mara Breakfast. 27/09 T-Rex Dinner. 28/09 Boma Breakfast. 28/09 Subway Lunch. 28/09 Artist Point Dinner. 29/09 50's Prime Time Cafe Lunch. 29/09 The Hollywood Brown Derby Dinner. 30/09 Tony's Town Square Lunch. 30/09 Be Our Guest Dinner. 01/10 Mcdonalds Breakfast. 01/10 Taco Bell & Five Guys Lunch. 01/10 Jiko Dinner. 02/10 The Mara Breakfast. 02/10 Leaning Palms Lunch. 02/10 Citricos Dinner. 03/10 Food & Wine Festival Breakfast & Lunch. 03/10 Coral Reef Dinner. 04/10 Big River Grille & Brewing Works Lunch. 04/10 Liberty Tree Tavern Dinner. 05/10 Sci-Fi Lunch. 05/10 San Angel Inn Dinner. 06/10 Rainforest Cafe Breakfast. 06/10 Yak & Yeti Lunch. 06/10 Yachtman Steakhouse Dinner. 07/10 Wolgang Puck Express Lunch. 07/10 Mcdonald's Dinner. One thing i can say is that we never got hungry with this dining plan. That was a lot of food but worth it and would do it all again. Tips are not listed but that doesn't mean we didn't do it. Just saying Edited at 10:54 AM. |

Brittish Airways flight.
We had this connection flight to get us from Amsterdam to London Gatwick. It was a morning flight and its only a hour so not much food. This is what we got: Must say i love those UK crisps! They are much more thicker, little bit more greasier and very salty. Looks like they 'lighten' our crisps here in Holland the last couple of years, like these more! Cost: 0$ Edited at 08:04 PM. |

Virgin Atlantic Flight.
From Gatwick to MCO! It was a day flight. We got the menu just after taking off. Enough time to choose. First thing they brought where these very tasy pretzels and a drink. Alcohol please, i'm on vacation! Well their signature cocktail was nice but nothing special. Just mixed juices with a blast of vodka. It will do for me We both choosed the bangers and mash wich where very tasty actually. It was well seasoned and filling. The bread was just dry airplane bread. Eatable but nothing special and i really did not like the stuff on top of the salad. I found it too sour or something. Followed by the lemon dessert from gu. It looks small but believe me, this baby is filling. Nice lemon flavours to clean your palate. We got cheese and pickle finger sandwiches wich i loved! I do not like pickles at all but this was so nice and can't tell why actually. It just worked for me. The cupcake on the other hand was very very very sweet but hey we all can use a sugar kick before getting in line for the passport check. Overal i really think the food at Virgin was good. Actually the best airplane food i ever ate. Cost: $0 |

The Mara Dinner.
After arriving at the gorgeous Animal Kingdom Lodge we where ready for a quick bite. No ADR this evening so we visited The Mara and it was busy! We got the Chicken Pita and the Hand Carved Turkey Sandwich for our entree and both the Zebra Domes as dessert. For drinks we had a bottle of Fanta and a Vitamin water. I must say this food wow'd me! The chicken pita was so nice! Fresh tasting and very filling. Great sauce on the pita wich was so flavorfull but not too spicy. I ate it without the fries wich where nothing special. My boyfriend had the Turkey Sandwich wich was also very good he said. Nice juicy thick slices of Turkey on it. We didn't have much space left to eat the domes but managed to push one in and it was so good. Very smooth mousse and just enough alcohol to give it a kick! Cost: Chicken Pita $9.19 Hand Carved Turkey Sandwich $ 9.19 2x Zebra Domes $3.69 Fanta $2.99 Vitamin Water $4 Total + Tax = $34.72. or 2 (quick service) dining points. |
