Over night at Manchester which hotel?
We are travelling from Scotland by train to fly out the following day. Which hotel would you book and how to you travel from the train station to airport, then back to airport for the morning flight?

cheapest i normally Premier Inn. either choose Heald Green 1 train stop from airport or a quick 10 mins taxi, or alternatively there are 2 onsite at the airport. have tried all the other hotels but usually £90 + for any of these.

There's a train station at Manchester Airport, if you book an airport hotel you can get the train straight to Manchester Airport and then most of the hotels have a courtesy bus where they'll collect you from the train station.

I can recommend Crowne Plaza, Clayton, Hilton all have courtesy buses to the terminals These are all basically on the airport. . I have not stayed at the Raddison but many people highly rate a stay there and is just a walkway to the terminal.
Afraid I can't comment on how to get from the train as I have never used the train. There is the premier inn close by, again I haven't stayed there but again highly rated by Dibbers. If you are looking at booking a hotel the night before don't forget to use one of the cash back sites like topcashback or quidco! Happy planning! Jane

We got a really good deal for Crown Plaza, we are getting train from Edinburgh to Manchester Airport. There is a free shuttle bus from train station to hotel and from hotel to airport! I love the Radisson but cannot justify the price!

Radisson Blu on the airport. It’s a wee bit more expensive, but it off the covered moving walkway that connects the terminals and the train station. So you don’t even go outside when you get off the train, or going from the hotel to the terminal you just go out the door and step on the moving walkway to get there.

The TransPennine Express trains from Scotland terminate directly in Manchester Airport Station.
From here there is a covered walkway/travelator to ALL terminals and to the Radisson Blu Hotel at T2. The Hilton is also adjacent to Airport property and so walkable. Alternatively, there is a taxi rank/ hotel pick up point directly outside the station for the Hilton, Crown Plaza, Holiday Inn Express and others (though you may need to contact theses hotels to arrange pick up).

Another alternative is to get off one stop before the airport which is right next to the Heald Green Premier Inn. Then it's just one stop/5 minutes on the train in the morning directly to the airport. My husband did that a few years ago and found it really easy and convenient

We always go down on the train from Edinburgh into Manchester Airport..just a note though for anyone planning on doing this at the weekends, the trains then have 2 or more changes, not ideal with lots of luggage and how busy the trains are.We are going down on Friday but not flying till Monday 😯

We love the Radisson but their prices have increased so much that it is just silly so we have defected to the Crowne Plaza. For an executive room with 15 days parking for 2 adults and a teen Radisson wanted approx. £350 and that is their member's rate. It no longer includes breakfast either. We are staying at the Crowne Plaza in an executive room with 15 days parking and as we are staying at the weekend we get a full breakfast in the restaurant rather than a continental in the lounge. This is costing us £220 which is a big difference. Both include nibbles and drinks in the lounge.
