Time Out

Occasionally we have to remind members that certain types of posts such as arguing, personal attacks, wind-ups, baiting, sarcasm, etc, are not acceptable here on the DIBB.

As a way of reminding members we have put in place a 'Time Out' system.

IF...

• You make unacceptable posts
• You get involved in an argument
• You make personal comments that are aimed at another member in a way that would be considered rude or insulting.
• You make posts intended to poke fun at or wind up other members
• You make sarcastic comments
• You make posts that are considerd to be made to bait certain responses.
• The type of posts you are making are seen as the cause for arguments or upset
• Your posts come across as just being unfriendly
• You use forum signature, countdown or profile fields to make unacceptable comments.
• You make posts that are in breach of our T&C’s
• You have signed up with a new account after being previously restricted or banned.

...then we may place your account in to Time Out.

We will usually use 'Time Out' when a number of reported posts have been received or a number of posts have been edited or deleted.

If your account is placed in to 'Time Out' then it means that your posts will not show in the forums until they have been manually approved.

You will still be able to use the forums, however there may be a significant delay before your posts are visible to the public. Other site features such as PM's may also be restricted.

We will remove the 'Time Out' only when we feel it is appropriate to do so. Continually making unacceptable posts whilst in 'Time Out' will just extend the period or lead to account closure.

We will not enter in to any discussion as to why your account has been placed in to 'Time Out' as we will only place your account in to 'Time Out' if we have deemed your recent forum activity unacceptable as noted above or we need to monitor posts made on your account.

We do not like to place restrictions on members and we certainly do not like to ban members from the DIBB. We feel that 'Time Out' is a halfway house, it allows us to monitor the future postings of an individual and acts as a reminder to that individual that certain posts are unacceptable on the DIBB.
