Thumbs up First family trip to Las Vegas and LA - August 2022 - Day 14

Index

Today was our final full day of the holiday. We were a little undecided as to our plan. We had a reservation for DL.

Along with the kids we decided that we were going to have a bit of a pool day and see how the mood took us. We also had a bit of a lay in this morning. I remember Sally going down to the lobby for her normal morning coffee. I had a slight panic moment when she came back and said her credit card had been refused I tried to check the credit card but ended up having to put my home sim card back in my phone to do it. Now, it wasn't pleasant reading but we were certainly nowhere near our limit... thank god

We got the kids ready for a day by the pool and decided to walk over to Ihop for breakfast. We'd enjoyed Ihop a couple of times in Orlando and Clearwater.

We ordered a breakfast for me, a lunch for Sally and some assorted sides for the kids.

It was OK. Nothing much more to say about it other than massively overpriced I know it was over $70 with tip.

We were back to the pool by about 10:30 and the kids were just as happy as us to be having a chill outby the pool. I think the long days, miles of walking and being non-stop on the go had finally caught up with us.

The weather was beautiful the pool was relaxing and it was just what we needed. Sally enjoyed a couple of cocktails... I think they were about $1.3m each

By lunch time the kids were fancying pizza for a change.

Much of the afternoon was more of the same. The kids were having fun and it was nice to see Benjamin slowly getting more confident in the water.

We headed up to the room about 15:30. Benjamin was really tired now but Emma wanted to do one last trip to DL. Eventually we decided that Benjamin needed as sleep so Sally would chill out with him in the room so he could have a nap and I would take Emma ahead to DL.

It felt really weird to go wandering off with just Emma but it was the best way to keep both of them happy right now.

Emma and I walked into DL just before 17:00. She really wanted to go on the Alice In Wonderland ride that she hadn't done yet but even she agreed, once she'd had a close up view of it, that it really wasn't worth a 40 minute wait for. As we had thought about doing this morning, we should have had a wander up to the parks, swiped and and then headed back so we could make use of Genie + this evening... but we just couldn't be bothered The queues were all REALLY long tonight.

Emma went for the shortest wait time we could find which was Pinnochio.

We followed it up with Pirates Of The Caribbean. The queue snaked a long way outside. I was struck by how many people looked really miserable Emma was happy though and that's all that mattered at that point. I think we ended up waiting about 30-40 minutes for Pirates.

I'd managed to grab a LL for BTM so we headed off there to finish up before we met Sally and Benjamin.

Meanwhile, Benjamin was feeling much better for his little nap.

They had headed up to meet up with us just inside the entrance to DCA.

It was about 19:15 by the time we met up and the kids spotted a chance to meet Captain America.

Benjamin wanted a Churro and Emma wanted some popcorn so we headed over Cars Land to grab them some using mobile order.

Soon after we grabbed some dinner from Flo's Cafe. Again, we used mobile order, Sally and the kids went and grabbed a table and I followed along behind with the food.

It's such a nice atmosphere over here at night.

It was 20:00 we were all feeeling really happy with our efforts over the last couple of weeks and we decided we would hit one more ride before heading back.

Soarin got the vote.

I think this was Benjamin's favourite whereas it was definitely Incredicoaster for Emma.

We took our last walk back to The Sheraton.

We all settled with some drinks on the balcony to watch the fireworks. Sally and I had a few beers to finish up from the fridge!

A nice chilled out day to finish up with. One last day to add which will include our travel home, highs, lows and future plans.

Think the kids deserved that pool time as their little legs have walked miles. Sometimes it’s just nice to chill out. Some more great photos. Last day then home tomorrow!.😔

A well deserved pool day, you can’t have a true holiday pool day experience until you have spent at least £1.3m on a cocktail! A perfect end to your day back at the parks and then on the balcony for drink accompanied fireworks.
