Anyone been to the Universal Halloween Horror nights, I have tickets to MNSSHP for the 27th of October 2002, and was wondering if it was worth going over to Universal as well, or would 1 Halloween spectacular be enough.

MNSSHP is exactly what it says - Not scary.
all though I've never been to HHN I've spoken to people who have and from what I gather it's much more scary. They have several Houses/Mazes set up all of which are themed differently and can be very scary, depending on your fright factor . I'm sure others will be along who have experienced it at first hand.

We were there in October 2000 and saw ths preparations for the evening going on, my younger two were scared and we didn't even stay for the festivities . Not for youngsters or the faint-hearted .

We'll be at MNSSHP on the 27th too, but we're doing HHN as well. We've been twice before and loved it. Nothing at all like MNSSHP. Very atmospheric, very scary and great fun, if your idea of fun is being chased by chainsaw wielding maniacs .
The major rides are open, there's a show - Bill and Ted's excellent adventure which takes the mickey out of recent films etc, there's a parade and there's the mazes. Did two of the mazes in '99 and got scared silly. Dh refused to do any last year but me and Jo are planning to drag him in a couple this year .

The Universal Horror Nights are fantastic, even though I am a big scaredy cat!
There is a really great atmosphere, you get to go on rides at night (which will be really cool as it is in IOA this year, Doing the Hulk at night, wow). I jumped out of my skin loads of times, and the show last year (Bill and Teds) was fantastic. I would recommend it to anyone but it may not be suitable for the little ones. Go for it! |

I went last year and thought HHN was absolutely fantastic .
It is rated a PG 13 for very good reason! If you have children older than this I would definitely try it as an opposite to MNSSHP. I'm going again this year and am sure it will be the highlight of the holiday again as it was last year . particularly for the teens. |
