Mobile Planning Planning and more Planning!

Hi. I am a serious planner - we’re talking spreadsheets, books, more spreadsheets, more books etc etc. All studied a long time in advance. My May/June 2020 trip is now booked and I have a pretty good idea of what I want to do and when I want to do it.

However, I have a few things that I’m impatient to know and things that could affect my planning!

I know it’s purely speculation as nothing’s been officially released, but I’m interested to get peoples opinions on the following. I know we have no way of knowing, but just for fun wondered what you thought?

1. Ratatouille ride. When will it open? What tier do you think it will be, and if tier 1 - will they drop one of the others to tier2.

2. Toy story BBQ restaurant. When will it open? What meals will it serve (ie breakfast, lunch, dinner). Will it be part of Fantasmic package?

3. Space Restaurant. Same as above except the package bit!

4. Hollywood Studios. With TSL, SWGE and the new Mickey Minnie runaway train, what will happen with the tiering of FPP when they’re all open.

Interested to get your views. TIA

1. May 2020 is the rumour at the moment but wouldn't be surprised to see it open for spring break. I doubt they will do much with the tiers as I believe they moved a meet and greet up to top tier last year so will probably drop that. Depends on when Guardians comes out.
2. Hadn't even heard of this one, googling now.
3. This year apparently so probably either in time for thanksgiving or Christmas. "they’ve developed a menu that features internationally-inspired cuisine, more than 1,000 bottles of the world’s finest wines and a wide selection of craft beer". I would put money on astronaut ice cream featuring somewhere.
4. I would say ASS will be downgraded especially when Mickey is opened. SWGE depends on when they start FP'ing it but then could see Slinky being dropped and it will be SWGE and Mickey (depending on how that goes).

Thank you. We were thinking much the same although wondering if Test Track or Soarin might go to tier 2 when ratatouille opens

I doubt it would be test track, if anything it would be Soarin' if it was between those two as it is never as busy. That said there was a rumour today that the land will be going in a few years along with seas, can't see it somehow.

So this is part of the Phase 2 EPCOT redevelopment scheduled for 2024. The rumour also said that it is likely Soarin' will get its own pavillion and the rest of the land area will be redeveloped. Not sure how I feel about this one

Test Track no. It’s down as often as it’s operating. Capacity will remain a challenge. Soarin maybe now they have introduced an additional theatre. But I suspect not. It’s a better ride than Ratatouille (IMO anyway!)

I’m torn in this. Ratatouille is my favourite ride in DLP and Soarin my favourite in Epcot. Tough call as to which is best!

Suppose they could do FEA as that isn't the mad crazy thing it once was and at least the queue is more interesting than Soarin' which is one of the dullest queues I know.

Whilst I don't know enough about the tiering structures to comment on your posed questions, I am so glad to read that I am not the only one who plans like this! My next trip is booked for a similar time to you and I already have a proposed itinerary on Excel (with various ticket selections to find the cheapest combos) and all the 2019 guidebooks (which will be repurchased when the 2020 editions come out!). DH thinks I am nuts.

I absolutely love planning WDW trips ! Also have you story and space restaurant pencilled in so really intrigued when ADRS open up for these (we go next January)
Also really intrigued by tier system for Epcot and HS too... SWGE are going to be up there for sure ... no idea what they will do with the toy story land attractions, perhaps slinky dog in tier 1 with SWGE attractions and then aliens and the rest in tier 2. Wish I knew so I could structure days 😂
