Animal Kingdom Secrets

Following on from a couple of recent threads, I'd like to try and update a list of Secrets and Tips for each of the WDW parks.

If you could confirm any of the following are still there, or any of them are now gone or you have any new ones not on the list then please post.

Please try to keep the thread ON TOPIC, it will make it easier for us to update the thread.

ANIMAL KINGDOM SECRETS and things to look out for!

* There are 27 hidden Mickeys in the mural in the Animal Kingdom Conservation Station.
* The animatronic characters (Goofy & Donald) fishing in the stream at AK.
* Watching the dragon blow out fire from the cave at Animal Kingdom.
* The person knocking on the door in Harambe at AK by Tusker House.
* DO NOT MISS Festival of the Lion King at Animal Kingdom.
* Song of the Rainforest in Conservation Station.
* The waterlilly pools at AK (at Flametree BBQ).
* “Devine” a lady on stilts wrapped in vine. Until she moves you just think she’s part of the landscape.
* The bridge where the Kali River Rapids ride ends. There are 2 elephants that people on the bridge can make shoot water by pushing a button. (the elephant wash and dry at Conservation Station).
* Look out for the talking Palm Tree, this is usually found near the entrance and can be very funny when it follows an unsuspecting guest.
* There is a second entrance/exit to Animal Kingdom to the left of the main turnstyles, you have to go through the Rainforest Cafe Shop.
* Look out for 'PUSH' the talking, moving trashcan at Rafeki's Planet Watch/Conservation Station - great fun watching the kids interact with it, even more fun watching the adults trying to work out how it knows what you are saying/wearing!

Not sure what you mean by the fishing Donald/Goofy. Perhaps the figures that are fishing in the stream by the path that runs down to Festival of the Lion King? There are static characters such as Mickey & Pluto, Donald & his nephews, etc in that area (ISTR Goofy's there too):

No idea about the dragon - where is that?!

AFAIK, the hidden trail is reported to be overgrown and impassable now (it was never an official pathway so it has not been maintained).

And how about the big rock that the lions tend to sit on in the Kilimanjaro Safari? Ever wondered why they are so often sitting up there, in the middle of the Florida heat, right in plain view of the tourists? Well wouldn't you if you had a nice air-conditioned rock to sit on?

Oh yes, "Push" the trashcan! He's great - my DD loved him.

Watch out for a guy with a shoulder-bag who keeps his hand near his mouth.

Push is Tomorrow Lands trash can!

As for the Dragon, yep he is there, I'm pretty sure he's in between camp Minnie Mickey and (is it Africa?) He's the only in park remain of what was to have been Beastly Kingdom (and why you can see a Dragon on the park logo and above the entrance).

On the lines of Push, when queuing up at AK entrance we had a great time with Wes Palm, the animatronic-ish Palm tree - everything he said ended in "Wonnnnderfullllll". Insane, but fun.

The lion does have air-con! if you do the safari look at the lions mane - it is swaying in the breeze - hang on there is no breeze

The Komodo Dragons rock is heated so he will stay there all day too!

At the bridge between Camp Minnie Mickey and Discovery Island look towards the water and you can see dinosaurs and a dragon waterfall...
