They are the same thing, they're just more commonly known as antigen tests in the US so that's what all the documentation will refer to. For info, Lateral Flow is the test method and Antigen is what they are testing for.

The Lloyds test should be fine as it is administered by them so qualifies as supervised. Although there have been several reports of pharmacies (both Lloyd's and Boots) cancelling the tests so I would personally go with a dedicated testing company if you can.

Where does it state on the US entry requirements it has to be a supervised test? I've looked through CDC and us embassy and both just state a negative test result with certificate?

Scroll down to FAQs, under "Does a self-test meet the conditions of the Order?"

AHH missed that! So I should be looking on my certificate for a telehealth home test? Anyone had one done that can confirm?

Go letter

Has anyone had a letter from their GP showing they’ve had COVID within 90 days instead of 1 day Lateral flow test before flying? Interested to know what details GP wrote on there. We are in this position at the moment but unsure if all information is included! Thanks for any help or advice

Just bumping as we are in a similar position.

DS had Covid at end of Nov so within 90 day window. Do we just need a letter from our GP (can we get it from anyone else?)? Does he need a test to get the letter? I assume they would think he was ok to travel although theoretically he could have Covid again.

Any recommendations on which 1 day company to use? We used the one that starts with R before for France and it was not an easy process.

Thanks for the help.

So far the majority people in this situation have found it easier to just do the test instead of using proof of recovery, as most GPs have refused to write letters.

Unless you are very recently recovered (i.e. within days of your flight) there's no reason you would still test positive on LFT. It's only PCR testing where it may be a concern, which isn't required for US entry.

Thanks for the swift reply. I did wonder whether it would just be a whole lot less hassle / cheaper to get a LFT test done. I thought the only bonus of a GP letter would be that you would not have the nervous wait to see if you had a positive LFT or not.

OMG, I must have read through this brilliant thread loads of times and I’m still confused as to what we have to do for our upcoming trip in February. So, if I understand correctly myself and my wife are fully vax so only need the supervised lft before travelling to the USA as does my unvaxed 10 yr old daughter. My question is what to do before we return to the uk. ? Do we need supervised lft again in the USA before departure? Please help, I’m going out my mind…..
