How late should a 14 year old stay out until?

Hi all,
Looking for your opinions.. DD is wanting to stay out later with her friends, she says some of them are allowed until 10pm. This seems pretty late to me, or am I out of touch?

I’ve said she isn’t allowed out on a school night now as she’s just started year 10 and the start of GCSE’s. She’s not happy about this.

If you’ve got kids the same age, what’s your time limit?

I wouldn't let a 14 year old out that late.

I think a lot of ot depends what they are doing and with whom rather than a set hour.
Not allowed out in the evenings at all in the week sounds a bit too restrictive though !

At fourteen I was attending a local youth theatre , rehearsals on school nights and then the bus home I was invariably home later than ten but if I was just hanging around with friends I had to be home by nine (sometimes earlier) at abosolute latest and only one or two nights a week maximum.

Ten is too late if just "hanging out" unsupervised IMO

My eldest is 20 now but when she was 14 there was no way she was out until 10pm, even now she is in most nights she's here before 10pm lol... But that's cos of work on a weekend it's a whole different story 😵😵, nights are drawing in now and weather's gonna get crappier you might find she doesn't want to be out that late with a bit of luck and can review it again in the summer next year when she's a bit older. I think 9pm at latest at minute

That's a good point about evening activities

Wow we must be the cruelest parents

DS (14) is in bed well before 10pm on a school night, no way he'd be going out anywhere unless a family thing.

Weekend he can be out, but to specific places, not just hanging around. 10pm if friends houses, 9pm otherwise. Exceptions would be things like cinema, birthdays etc.
