The name bit is all names (inc middle) isn’t it?
No middle names. It asked for family name and given name.

You are required to put your name in as it appears on your passport . So if you have a middle name on your passport add it in the first name bit on the ESTA. They are required to match.
Not that I have yet heard if anyone doing denied entry for forgetting .

If you think ESTAs are bad, wait til you do the Passenger Locator form for multiple people coming back to the UK. Absolute nightmare.

Blimey. What’s that? Is it a U.K. requirement?

Oh don’t
I haven’t read too much on all this yet but you can’t do it until a few days before you return can you? That’s really stressful why can’t you do it before you go so it’s all prepared?
Is it the same PLF for returning from any country?

If you start another ESTA, when it comes to the first page, click on “ First ( Given ) Name and a Box comes up with instructions which includes
“ enter ALL names exactly as they appear on your passport”
Try it to see what comes up. You can just leave it after checking .

So if your husbands second name is on his passport it should be put on the First (Given ) Name field.

I’m not telling you to do it again, just passing on what the ESTA says the requirement is. Your choice what to do.

Not sure what to do now as just checked all my previous ESTA and have never put his middle name in and we have never had any issues and have been to the USA many times maybe we have just been luck but I thought if it was authorised then it would be okay.

I re did mine a few months ago, having read the full ‘middle name’ thread. I don’t think
It was so much about the esta being rejected but maybe somebody in immigration being pedantic, not sure there has been a single case of anybody being rejected.
The funny thing is that I’m the only one in my party without a middle name!
