Mobile Connecting flight - charlotte questions

So we are booked to connect in CLt - i connected there in ‘16 but since we came via Dublin we arrived as domestic passengers, this time we’re coming over straight from Heathrow- I’m just trying to prepare - we’re a travel party of 3 adults and one toddler, said toddler will have a buggy - will that come off with the rest of our luggage to re-check In?
And when we recheck in, is there a connecting flights /bag drop counter we go to, or is it straight back to the departures check in desk with everyone else? (And I’m assuming back through security with everyone else)
will they want to re verify our covid tests? (I’m going to do the VeriFLY app)
I think we have enough time - though I’ll never truly believe it till we are at the gate ready to board the 2nd flight.

Not done CLT before (will be doing this year) but the process should be the same for all US airports. You don’t check in again, you land, go through immigration, pickup bags from baggage belt and carry them through customs, there will then be a connecting flight belt where you drop your bags off again might have to do security again then walk to your connecting gate/terminal.

You won’t have to show your test results again, you don’t need them for domestic US flights

Thank you so much! This was what I was hoping!
