Renewing passports when child is now adult

Hi everyone

My daughter's passport is coming up for renewal, and she is now 16 years old. Is it a straightforward renewal to get her adult passport from a child passport, or does she have to apply through the First Adult Passport route? Can't find anything on the official website to answer my question.

We did ours online, uploaded a new photo and she had it in 2 weeks.

We've just done this, you'll need a new photo. We did it at Morrisons, they give you a reference number that you enter on your online application and it gets uploaded automatically for you. Really simple and quick

Just take the photo on a phone. No need to pay more for something you can do yourself at home.

It's what we did, made sure we had the correct background and did it that way. We were informed if it didn't meet standard which mine didn't as I had recently broke my nose and had not covered up the black eyes properly haha eldest came to the rescue and plastered the concealer on 😄
