Venice, March 2013

We visited Venice 16-19 March 2013 with DH's parents and his sister and her bf. We stayed near st marks sq.

Pasta from Alfredos

A beautiful view of the canal

The Disney store had hand painted characters on the walls. It was lovely!

Rialto Bridge

Rialto Bridge again from further down the canal

We had our first night meal at Hard Rock Cafe. Chicken tenders

Hard rock ribs

The bath in our room! We stayed at Relais Venezia which was a BEAUTIFUL hotel

Our room

We found a book shop that had books from floor to ceiling. He had a little staircase out back that gave a fab view of the water.

He even had Disney books!

Pizza on our second day for lunch. This slice was bigger than my head!

I'm trying to find where we are on the map

Residential area

I asked for a latte. Silly me. He brought hot milk.

Pigeon attack!

Weird guy doing weird exercises in the park

Gelato!

The bridge of sighs

Pizza!

Bruschetta

Spaghetti

More pizza

Mini cake

Mini tart

Cream puff

Pasta from a fantastic family run trattoria. Loved this meal! Al Vaporetto Castello

Chicken and roast potatoes

Lovely meal

St Marks Sq (and most of Venice) flooded on our last full day.

But it was dry in the morning and beautiful sunshine.

We went to Doges palace for the morning.

Of course had pizza for lunch before heading to the airport. Yum

On our way back to the airport via boat.

Looks lovely. We spent a day in Venice on our honeymoon and would love to go back. My DD also keeps asking if we can go to Venice, so thinking of a break there next Easter maybe. Who did you book with?

We booked everything DIY. Worked out much cheaper. We booked flights with easyjet, and the hotel via booking.com I would recommend the hotel no end, it was FANTASTIC. Relais Venezia. We then booked the boat to and from the airport via the Alilaguna.it website and it was all very easy. Its a really beautiful place to go explore.

The last pizza was just from a window, not a restaurant. All pizza windows are very similar so you can't go wrong. Would recommend the trattoria we visited and Alfredos fresh pasta to go. Have a look on trip advisor for restaurants that's how we found some amazing ones. Stay away from rossopomodoro. Terrible service. I have trip report videos on my YouTube channel at YouTube.com/nicolafred

Thanks, that's really useful info. Had a look at easyjet but flights not released yet.
