Any downside to only person in party having a Disney Annual Pass?
Not another annual pass question!
Doing the maths and because a second trip within the year is looking likely but not guaranteed, I'm leaning towards buying one annual pass so if we don't end up going a second time we've not lost too much (but still get the free parking and discount benefits of the pass on the first trip as we're off-site). So, aside from the money side of it ... Is there any downside to just one of us (party is 2A one infant first trip, 2A 1C by the second plus extended family who would potentially be with us sometimes), having an AP and not all of us? Presumably only one person in party needs to have a pass to use the discounts/get free parking? I imagine you need a pass each for any special events for APs or tour discounts etc, but unlikely to affect us. Are there any restrictions I'm missing? As I've never seen it mentioned anywhere I assume there's no discount on additional ticket purchases for APs (like there sometimes is at DLP for example?). Thank you! |

People with a 14 day uk pass get golf free where the pass holder has to pay for golf and gets around a 10% discount.
The 20% discount in shops is very useful. Also the photos stay on the mde for 1 year rather than the short time for 14 day passes.

AP can only hold 7 days FP's in any 30 day window, now this is a issue, especially if going for 3 weeks

Not golfers so no trouble there!
Interesting re the FPs, so we could only book the first 7 day FPs for the AP holder then have to add as we go?

Last year in June we upgraded our 14 day tickets to AP but we had already booked for Nov without the dining plan as we got the free days offer. Have booked for May with AP discount 35% off hotel. You can book more than 7 days this is if you are staying offsite, we are staying on-site so we have 15 days fast pass booked which is stay in May. We could have paid for the dining plan but not worth it for the 2 of us. You can get some good discounts on the room rate but they are usually a few months before you plan to go. If you go on the USA site it will gave a list of discount. We have made the AP work for us this time with the 3 trips lots to work out. I know when I looked at the after hours in Magic Kingdom it said limited to 4 tickets I have just done a dummy booking and it gave the discount for all 4 tickets.

We upgraded last year on the 2nd day of a 19 day trip and kept every one of our fast passes.

That's because you had already booked them before upgrading.
I'm sure when we went last year we were able to book book more than the 7 days unlike previous years. Will wait and see what happens this year.

That would make sense although before we did upgrade we had heard that we would lose any FP's beyond 7 days. We checked with the CM before we did the upgrade and he confirmed that we would keep the lot.
So does that mean as we are now APH's that when fastpass day comes around we can only book for 7 days?

If you are on-site this over rides it to normal rules, off-site you revert to 7 days & need to use one day before booking the next

Thank you! We are off site entirely on our next trip so are going to be stuck with just 7 days then
