Live Report: 3wks For 4: Day 2 - Travel Day

After a fairly good night's sleep we were all awake by 6:30, showered and ready to leave by 7. We found our way easily to the valet parking at south terminal, though there was a distinct lack of valets!

We were quickly on to the travelator thingy and in to south terminal. Found Virgin bag drop easily. There was a short queue but nothing compared to the check-in queue! We still have our chosen seats. ...

Security was really quick, nobody needed a frisking!

We had booked the Servisair lounge, so found our way there. It's quiet compared to the rest of the departure lounge and croissants and juice on tap!

Update:
The flight was all good. We were not asked to move seats, cabin crew nice and friendly, seats as comfy as they can be though I was sandwiched between a recliner and a headrest basher, food was more than adequate and seemed to be never ending! Films were great. I watched Silver Linings Playbook (6/10) and This is 40 (8/10) which was very funny. Freddie wasnt sick and time passed fairly quickly.

Immigration was a bit of a nightmare. We were one of the first off the plane and the immigration queue wasnt too bad but we then got put into the slowest workers line, who then disappeared off with a family, clutching their passports. We were then moved to a different queue behind a party of about 8 who took ages to process. Was very frustrating and in the end it was an hour and a half from landing to getting in the car!

Found our way to the villa easily. Villa is gorgeous - it's a dibb villa, Wilderness View, and is just perfect. We had a quick dinner at chick fil a which was lovely. Four chicken burger meals and shakes came to $32.32 and really hit the spot. We then drive to Target for some supplies. Had never been here before and didn't like it much. The aisles seemed very random. We picked up a few things then headed home where the kids crashed straight away (was 8.30 local time by now), Dave watched some baseball and I unpacked then crashed too.

It's now 3.50 and I am awake! Hopefully will doze off again now.

Next up: Animal Kingdom

Great start just a shame about the immigration queue.

Thanks everyone

The car is through Alamo, a standard SUV and is a Chevrolet Traverse. Will take some pics of it today. It's huge but hubby does all the driving so he gets to choose.

Give Target another try when you're not so tired. It's ok for groceries, but it's real strength is in the other stuff. I particularly like the house-y stuff.
