We always stay at either Premier Inn (London City)Tower Hill or (London City)Aldgate. They are both only a few minutes walk from tube stations, lovely area around the Tower too.

I stay in London 2-3 times a month. I often stay in Premier Inn St Mary on Hill simply because it is near the office which I like and they put me on the 7th floor with good views and a big family style room. That’s a pretty decent Premier Inn, and I’ve stayed in 6-7 around London. It’s near the Tower of London and the Walkie Talkie for a Skygarden visit which is highly recommended.
If they want somewhere a bit quiet but a short walk to Theatreland I have always enjoyed Apex Temple Court on a weekend. Very nice hotel with great breakfast, opposite the Royal Courts on Strand. Quiet area on a weekend but in a 10 mins walk you are near the Savoy, and Covent Garden. Park Plaza Westminster bridge I stayed recently, it isn’t my favourite to be honest, very busy and rooms were a little tired. Premier Inn County Hall or the one behind it are excellently located and if you book far enough in advance they can be cheap, we recently took the kids there and paid well under £100 a night including breakfast, which was a good bargain. Rooms basic but probably one of the best locations in London to see the sites. Tower Hotel I’ve stayed in a few times. I also quite like the Grange hotels, I’ve stayed in those many times, the Holborn one, the Tower one and a few others. You won’t go wrong with one of that group. I’ve stayed in Park Plaza South Bank, opposite Jeffrey Archer’s flat near MI5, nice hotel but railway behind. Montcalm at Brewery I have often stayed at, but a quiet area on a weekend and pricey. I’ve stayed in loads more but these come to mind first.
