Here we go Again! Charlotte's 2nd WDW trip Jan 2019 - Day 6 MK, Yachtsman and a bit of EPCOT
Index is here
Day 6 Tuesday 29th Jan 2019 We all woke at a much more reasonable hour today, and popped Charlotte in the bath once she had eaten her breakfast. She wanted to wear her Belle dress again today, and if you can’t be a Princess in Walt Disney World when can you?! Once we were all ready, we headed down to the bus stops to find a very large queue at the Magic Kingdom stop. One bus arrived and was already half full from the Yacht Club, so not many people managed to fit onto it, ourselves included. The queue system was a bit chaotic, truth be told, with people just standing around not in any noticeable line. We decided to head back in, through EPCOT and take the monorail over. It would probably have been quicker to stand and wait for the bus, but we were happier to be moving if that makes sense? A bit like taking a massive diversion in your car to avoid some roadworks, even though it would have been quicker to sit there and wait! Anyway, decision made we were soon back through the lobby, entering EPCOT at international gateway and making a fairly speedy walk through World Showcase and into Future World. We were definitely the only people headed in this direction and EPCOT was lovely and quiet. I filmed a bit of our walk through, past Club Cool and the fountain, and the big pin station as I love this area music so much and the atmosphere. Very glad I did that now, following the news from D23 and all the construction walls that have gone up recently in this area. Soon we were heading up the ramp and only waited a moment for a monorail to MK. We departed at the TTC and decided to take the ferry over. There was actually a massive queue as we got closer to it, but those ferries really are people eaters aren’t they (not literally, that would be awful). We easily made it onto the ferry and were soon strolling up Main Street. We had a reservation at Be Our Guest for around 10.15 if I remember correctly, so headed straight there to check in. We were given a yellow rose and called to the stand having pre ordered our food. I asked the CM could he add a milk onto the order for Charlotte, it should have been an extra charge but he rejigged it for us so we didn’t have to pay which was nice of him. While we were waiting for someone to come and seat us (did they always do this at breakfast?) I took a picture of my little “Belle” in the ballroom. We knew we didn’t want to eat in there though, the noise level was something else! We asked if we could sit in the little room with the Belle and Beast music box, as it was so quiet and much calmer in there. Looking at the pictures it seems we had the same thing as last time, Martin had the feast and I had the bacon and egg sandwich on a croissant. I had brought some strawberries and a yoghurt for Charlotte, and she had some of my fruit bowl and the pastries that you get here. As almost everyone says, I don’t think I’d pay actual money to have breakfast here but as a QS credit I find it really good. We restroomed on the way out of the castle, then strolled towards the Mad Tea Party. The wait time was posted at 10 mi nutes so we joined the line. This was a first ride for all of us! Charlotte absolutely loved this ride, she was laughing away as Martin span the cup (which obviously encouraged him to spin faster, just what I need after breakfast haha) Once we exited, Charlotte spotted Alice and asked could she go and meet her. This did surprise me a little as she hasn’t actually seen the Alice in Wonderland movie (although we have read her the story so she did know who she was I guess). It was a really sweet meet, Alice was great with her and she was last in line so they chatted for ages. We had a Jungle Cruise fastpass coming up, so made our way over to Adventureland, stopping for a few moments to watch the show on the castle stage. I changed Charlotte into comfier clothes in the bathroom on the way. When we got to Jungle Cruise, the FP line was out of the door! Standby was 65 minutes and we waited about 15 minutes. Charlotte befriended a couple in front of us, we chatted for a few minutes, they were from the West Coast and she was wearing amazing Minnie ears that she made herself. Jungle Cruise was good, you know what you’re getting really don’t you! We did get held up by Trader Sam for some reason, but not for long. We decided to grab a Dole Whip and have a little sit in the Hub for a bit of a rest next. The queue at Aloha Isle was huge (as usual) so I tried doing mobile ordering for the first time. While I waited I told Martin to take Charlotte, get the stroller and meet me at the entrance to Adventureland so we could hot foot over to the hub grass. Mobile ordering was great, I had my dole whip in hand in no time. I scooted over to the entrance to the land…no sign of my husband and child. Through some sort of communication breakdown, he had gone to the little cut through where you can get into Frontierland. I have no idea why, to this day. I had to call him to find out where they were, and the WiFi kept dropping out so I couldn’t WhatsApp call him and had to ring him normally, God knows how much that cost. Meanwhile the ice cream was melting away, so I was a bit annoyed by the time he turned up. What a stupid thing to get annoyed over, but we soon got over it and enjoyed sitting with our ice cream in the Hub and listening to Elsa singing in front of the castle. Martin and Charlotte had a little play, and we soon felt all recharged and raring to go again. Next up we had a fastpass to meet Ariel. Again, this was a new one for us all and the meet and greet area is so cool, however Ariel wasn’t the best. Charlotte loved her though so that’s all that matters. I wanted to have a look in Storybook Circus , they sometimes have Dumbo stuff that they don’t have in the other stores, and if you’ve read my other TRs you’ll know we have a very Dumbo obsessed little lady! They did have a Mrs Jumbo and Dumbo soft toy that she liked and was cuddling, however she had been asking for an Anna dolly too so I told her she could only have one and she chose Anna. Our next fastpass was for Fairytale Hall, but we still had some time before it was active so got a froxen lemonade from Friar’s Nook and had a sit down. I gave Charlotte a banana and a little bag of biscuits to snack on. Another Princess meet and greet up next, Tiana and Rapunzel. We hadn’t been in Fairytale Hall before, Charlotte was very giddy. She found a little “gem” on the floor in the hallway that had obviously fallen out of a crown or tiara and thought it was marvellous. She insisted on showing both Princesses. They were both really sweet with her, especially Tiana. The parade was about to start, we were too late to get a decent spot so we parked the stroller up around the plaza garden area and found a spot there. Because there was railings and a flowerbed in front of us we had quite a decent view and Charlotte loved seeing all the floats going past. I could tell she was exhausted though and before the end, popped her in the stroller and walked over to Tomorrowland. She was asleep within a minute or two and Martin and I decided to share a quick bite to eat in Cosmic Ray’s to keep us going until dinner. We had a cheeseburger and fries and raided the toppings bar! Charlotte's autograph castle I take this picture every time Making the most of a sleeping toddler we had a look in a couple of shops on our way back out of Magic Kingdom. No purchases this time, and we were soon back on the monorail to EPCOT. It was almost 5 o’clock by now so I tried to wake her, which she wasn’t keen on . Thankfully one of the security guards at the front of EPCOT had a dog with him so that perked her up! We strolled back through EPCOT and to our room to get ready for dinner at Yachtsman, stopping to look at a few of the art stands at the festival. How gorgeous is she We had a great meal, a superb server and delicious food. Charlotte shared my filet and truffle fries, and dessert of course. We did debate trying Narcosees this trip for a change, but seeing as we were staying at Beach Club it seemed a no brainer to eat here, and I’m glad we did. Originally we planned to just go back to the room, but Charlotte was wired so we headed back into EPCOT. We walked into the UK and went to the Kidcot station to start collecting the little postcards. She was SO excited to get her little suitcase (zip loc bag!) and carried it round with her . We crossed the bridge into France and watched Illuminations . Perfect end to a really lovely day. Finally we were all exhausted and meandered back to the Beach Club ready for our beds! Tomorrow we pick up our car, hit the shops hard, eat at ‘Ohana and go into Magic Kingdom for EMH.

What a wonderful day, you achieved so much! So any gorgeous photos, that sky is just unbelievable and the photos with the princesses are heart-melting!
Haha loved the comment about the ferry being a people-eater! So true though, I am always amazed how many people they manage to squeeze on there! Loving reading this as always (and it is fueling my pre-trip excitement perfectly!) |
