Payment methods for taxis?

Trying to cover all bases!
DD is driving when we go in Nov/Dec. She’s extremely worried about this.

She had practice last year with DS. Didn’t like it!
We’re staying at AKL so I know we can get Disney transport but when we go to US/IOA etc thinking of getting taxis if she can’t cope with driving.
My question is do you HAVE to have a Debit/credit card? Can you pay with cash or something like a gift card with $s on?
I’ve read stories about people being charged for cleaning taxis etc!
Any advice. TIA.

Download the Uber or Lyft app. Set prices before you get in. Very easy to use and much cheaper than regular taxis.

Thanks for your reply. Is there no other way to pay apart from debit/credit cards?

You can pay Uber linked to a Paypal account.

Normal Mears cab.

Higher cost but used them long before uber was born, cash payment, no further issues after you have slammed the door on exit.

We used cash on the one occasion we used a taxi (first trip when we left POR to travel to HRH) and then ever since we’ve used Uber and this automatically debits from your account (debit card or Paypal).

Uber was considerably cheaper than a taxi.

Thanks for your reply Roo. Do you buy lynk card online? I’m not very tech savvy and worry about scams etc
