BA seats
Booked today 🥳🥳
1st time travelling BA, always go virgin & book the bubble. Debating if to book seats or not, looking at good seats for family of 5 and interested to know if many of you have been separated when not prebooking seats? 🤔 |

Do you have any children aged 11 and under? If so, they will pre-allocate seats around 5 days before travel. As a family of 4 we’ve never been split.

A point to note if you are travelling BA and have children, they don't automatically get a kids meal, you have to order it

Hi Mason1, no our children will be 15,16 & 18 at time of travel so I'm guessing more likely to get split up!

Exactly the same as you, normally book Virgin with the bubble. Booked BA last week, have booked seats as my eldest will be 13 and don’t want to worry that we could get split up

We leave in just under 5 weeks and still haven’t booked seats, also our first tine BA our youngest is 13 so we are at risk of being spilt, really unsure as well 🙈

BA doesn’t split parties up deliberately, unless large groups. In economy, a party of 5 will of course be split somehow, usually no more than two groups across the aisle or one row behind the other.
The exception might be on totally full flights with large numbers of families with under 12s. Once all those are allocated, along with those pre-booking seats, it’s not always possible to keep the remaining parties close together. There is more chance of parties who don’t Pre-book being split in cabins higher than economy. Edited at 05:54 PM. |

My youngest will be 12 next year, so I don’t want to risk being split, so will book seats using the Avios points we had from this year’s trip.

Just flew back with them, 2 Ad DS20 and DD17, didn't pre book seats on return, when checked in online 24hrs before we had been allocated 4 seats in the middle. Same thing happened the last time we flew with them.
