Day 3 - Animal kingdom lodge, Celebration and the Poly - If you can dream it you can do it May 2017

Another early one this morning as we were both up at 5am. Must be all these early nights we seem to be having! The warm weather and walking just seems to take it out of you!

We got ready and went downstairs to check out! We asked about our bags as we were transferring to another disney hotel and it turns out they can take the bags over for you, which is great news as we were going to catch the buses with out luggage and take it to the hotel ourselves.

This saved us a bit of time so we caught a bus to animal kingdom so we could get an uber, we only did this so we were a little closer and the uber would cost less. It was so hard seeing my favourite park and not being able to go in! it wouldn't be long but i could have just run in at this point!

We got an uber to celebration which cost us $10. Uber was a life saver on this holiday and saved us so much money.

We walked all around celebration, if you haven't visited this little town you should do. It was a once owned by disney and is on disney property. Its so quiet and peaceful and everyone is so friendly here. There are a few shops and some cafe's and the lake in the middle of the town. When we visited in 2015 none of the shops were open so we took some time to have a nosey around stopping off in the most important shop, the pet store! Why is it we travel all this way and animals are always the first on our mind to buy things for?

We decided we would come back later to buy the bits and pieces we wanted and had a slow stroll around the entire lake. it looks extremely far but it wasn't as far as you think it might be and its really enjoyable enjoying the surrounds, the peace and quite and the wildlife.

Once we got back we started to think about our stomachs, we wanted to eat at the market cafe as it had been recommended to us however it seemed to be closed and looked like it was being updated so we went next door to the celebration tavern.

It was nice in here, the food was lovely and the service was great, i did send my food back as it looked slightly undercooked for chicken, this was done no problem and didn't take more than 5 minutes for a fresh one. I wouldn't let this put anyone off, i think it was me being over caution as mums was fine. I didn't write down what we ordered but i know it was chicken and steak but i cant remember what it was! The menu had some facts about the town which i found interesting.

We decided to take another walk around the lake to walk off our dinner. The final stop was to go back to the pet store to collect a few things for our furry babies at home.

Mum got an ice cream from next door, i was gutted i couldn't have one but i was so full from lunch< reminder dont eat so much that you cant have a homemade ice cream!

We got an uber very easily back which cost us $11 and we were heading to the Polynesian. This is the first time we’ve been here and honestly was a little treat for ourselves as we paid for one night only for a theme park view!

We went to check in which went very smoothly, as we were checking in the cast member kept talking about club level and free food and we were slightly confused. Mum asked the cast member if they were mistaken as we had booked a theme park view and not club level. The cast member looked slightly confused, went back to the computer and looked up with a big smile and the best news! “No we aren't wrong you’ve been upgraded to club level for free” We couldn't believe our look! 2 upgrades in 1 holiday.

we were directed by a cast member to the Hawaii block were we checked in properly into club house level, we had free drinks on arrival and club level was explained to us! the room wasn't quite ready so we went and sat by the pool awaiting an email to tell us we could go upstairs.

We finally got an email after about an hour. The hawaii block was key coded so you had to scan your magic band to get in! The room was truly beautiful! and the view was just something else, we couldn't believe this was where we were staying for the evening. We headed downstairs to get some free drinks and noticed there was snacks as well so we took some back to the room with us.

We rang to see if our bags had arrived and they told us they hadn’t. We chilled for slightly longer but we were starting to get a little cold without any of our belongings and couldn't really do anything. We enquired about our bags again and they said they were here and would be bringing them up shortly, we told them we had dining reservations so we needed to start getting ready soon and they said they would come straight over now as they were being loaded up on the cart. By 5;30pm the bags still hadn't arrived so we had to go to the front desk to find them, they hadn't been loaded up onto a cart and were still sat in the bag room. This was slightly annoying and the only downside of our stay here really!

We got dressed and I went downstairs to meet Sarah as she was joining us for dinner tonight. As we were staying at the poly we had to try ohana. I had read mixed reviews but it was somewhere we really wanted to try so we booked a table.

The queue was really big and they were 30 minutes late! i knew this meant going back to the room to watch the final wishes wasn't going to happen. The meal was ok, it felt slightly rushed and the food wasn't as nice as i thought it would be, however it was enjoyable, we could see magic kingdom from where we sat and it was good company.

You start with some coconut bread which was yummy, followed by salad, pot stickers, noodles and wings. Then you get meat which was steak chicken and prawns, its all you can eat so they keep coming round and serving you and if you want more you ask! Pudding was bread and butter pudding with banana caramel sauce. There was nothing wrong with the food and i would say the pot stickers and steak were a highlight for me.

We had pretty much finished our meal when the final wishes started, it was great to be able to see it and being in here had the added bonus of having the music played in as well. We enjoyed it but probably wouldn't come again. It just felt overly busy in here like they had over booked the place.

After wishes had ended we paid our bill and headed back to our room, stopping off at the club level for drinks. We sat on the balcony watching the water parade and enjoying the view before Sarah left at 11 and i got into bed, ready for another adventure tomorrow, the disney cruise.

Tomorrow - All aboard the dream

Celebration looks and sounds lovely, I'm determined that we'll be visiting on our upcoming trip (meant to go last time but pretty much just drove past as we ran out of time before we ran out of things to do!). Lucky things with your upgrade, it sounds fab😁

Wow, you were really lucky to get upgraded to club level. We had the same feeling about 'Ohana. It just felt too rushed and too noisy.
