So some dibbers book with specific car rental firms specifically to not have to deal with the agent and yet you get the human version and still are not happy, oh the irony!

Personally he sounds just like my kind of agent, say the least possible and give me my keys with no extras to pay, STFU and let me get out of there.

But each to his/her own, personally that's one of the reasons I wouldn't stay at Disney (I don't like false Bonami).

People love to take the opposite view here ... I agree, civility should be the least you expect. A bit of eye contact, hi, please and thank you takes no effort at all.

Fair enough, but to call the title a Horrible experience, well really.

My side here, and it’s not because I love to take the opposite view, I just have a different view than the OP, and that is that I would prefer the direct approach one rather than the chatty one, especially after a long flight.

Just think what he has to put up with in a day too.
“ Customers... don’t you just hate them?”

This is probably what caused the confusion as he didn't have any scuba gear in the lots

I agree Juliemack, however, remember that you only get one side of the story and the person may have given them the basic courtesy but as they didn't get the sugarcoating that the other customers got from the other employee, it's easily dropped from the story.
