BA cancelled our flight
Just wondering if anyone has had a flight cancelled on them before and if so can you claim anything from the airline? Background of this is we booked to go to NY with Opodo and flights we're through BA. I thought I'd have a look at the flight yesterday to then find out it had been cancelled but I'd heard nothing from either BA or Opodo and the flights have now doubled in price. So angry and not sure what to do

Have you been refunded? Was an e ticket issued? Suspect this may be something to do with opodo?

We had indirect flights booked through Pillinger, the flights were with American Airlines from Heathrow to Dallas to Orlando and coming back from Miami to Washington and from Washington to Heathrow, the Washington flight was with BA and that flight got cancelled .Pillinginer got in touch to notify us of the cancellation and then booked us on another flight which in fact was a better flight as it was Miami straight through to Heathrow, again with BA .
My advice would be to ring Opodo straight away as you bought the flights through them and it should be them dealing with your cancelled flight and putting you on another one .

Yes stickers were issued and I spoke to Opodo yesterday who said they have requested a refund from BA but couldn't offer us a flight for the same price

In my opinion something doesn't sound right. I have had flights get cancelled after booking but I have always found that the airline has rebooked us on to another flight.
Can you speak to BA and find out what has gone on? Dee Xx |

I would ring the airline if you have e-ticket numbers

Hmmm something doesn't sound right? Last year BA cancelled our outward journey to Orlando via Miami (I'd booked direct with them though). When I phoned up they just put us on a different flight, which worked out better for us as we got to Orlando earlier.
If you have an e-ticket or anything definitely try and give BA a ring.

Charl, have a look on BAs website and see if the flight is still operational, and price. If so then you need to speak to Opodo soonest.

the eu law covers flights cancelled - but only if they tell you less than 2 weeks before you travel.
I think you need to talk to ba, tell them you situation and hope that they offer a suitable alternative. that's pretty shocking I have to say tho.
