Question about Hotels.com

Hi I’m looking at hotels for a west coast trip next year, I’m looking at a few different sites to see their differences in price etc, while looking at Hotels.com I noticed that it said the payment would be processed in Spain?, as they do seem to be cheapest for a few hotels I like I just wanted to check what this means and if everything with them is all above board, anyone know?😀

I noticed that with easyJet holidays a few years back so paid on my cc that has no foreign transaction fees just in case. It was charging me in GBP but didn't want to risk it
we got the holiday with no problems was all fine. Might just be where the companies head office is located or something. As long as the rest of the booking conditions meet your requirements of course, free cancellation would be a big one for me if booking now.

We’ve used hotels.com quite a few times (they are a reward partner with Tesco). Never had any issues and always charged in £.

Thanks for those replies, everything else seems fine and I will be booking with credit card and only hotels with free cancellation, just thought that it seemed odd.

Have never noticed this before! I've used them quite a few times as well. I actually used them to book our hotel near Yosemite this year. We were due to be there right now, but have rescheduled for October. The only thing that was annoying about that booking is that it didn't allow me to reschedule, I could only cancel and rebook. So I did that, then waited 3-4 weeks on the refund before I could book again.

I know I could have done it straight away, but it was being refunded to my credit card, and I didn't want to have such a large credit! So I waited and it's all sorted now

I also think the refund processing time was as long as this due to the situation, otherwise I'm sure it would have been a lot faster.

Thanks for your reply, I’m glad to hear people are getting their money back even if it is taking a while, I’ve only heard positive things about them to be honest so I will still be happy to book with them😀
