COMPLETE! Two Disney Nerds go coast to coast – A June WDW & DL trip report
Well. That was one heck of a trip. But we’ll get to that. From Walt Disney World to Disneyland and back again. This is my second TR here on the Dibb (first is here), my 11th trip to WDW and my very first trip to Disneyland. As I was still trying to finish my first TR before we flew (I failed) there was no PTR, so here’s a quick overview of our plans for our east to west Disney extravaganza. Travel dates – 9 – 23 June Airline(s) – British Airways Gatwick to MCO return, American Airlines MCO to LAX return Hotels – Bloc at Gatwick, Bay Lake Tower, Disneyland Hotel & Polynesian Resort 2 Coasts 4 flights 4 hotels 3 time zone changes. 4 if you include the return to London. I’m fairly certain I’m still jetlagged 2 ˝ months later. So, that’s the trip, in a nutshell. The people attempting this mad plan are: Kirsty W That’s me on the left. Planner to the point of obsession, lover of all things classic and big believer that there is no place for a lay-in on hols. I’m happiest camped out on Main Street with camera in hand, waiting for the parade. I’m the vegetarian to balance out the other ones uber-carnivore status. Also the trip photographer, so you can mostly find me with a camera in front of my face. Favourite ride: WDW – Splash Mountain / Disneyland – Small World Favourite park: Disneyland & Magic Kingdom Favourite show: Nemo Favourite character: Mickey Mouse Favourite snack: Citrus Swirl Favourite restaurant: Rancho del Zocalo Favourite drink: Nautilus at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto Kirsty R Here with her man we have my best friend, sister in all but blood and partner in crime. This was R’s 12th visit to WDW and heaven knows how many trip to Disneyland. She grew up in LA and got to visit Disneyland often as a kid, but this is her first trip back in a verrry long time. R is the food planner, carnivore and The Country Bear’s biggest fan. She would probably appreciate a few more lie-ins, but is ever patient with my go-go-go touring style. Favourite ride: WDW – FoP Disneyland- Pirates Favourite park: Disneyland / DAK Favourite show: Tangled Favourite character: Big Al Favourite snack: Matterhorn Macaroon Favourite restaurant: California Grill Favourite drink: Mint Julep So, lets get this started. There will be tears of joy, excitement, early mornings, late nights, flight delays and at last count just under 10,000 photos. Want to come along?
